Trekking:-
For the more adventurous we could organize a local guide to escort you up hillocks , across rocky streams, or along the perimeter of the reserve forests, or take you off the regular beaten tracks to the nearby beauty spots.
One of the popular trekking trails leads to Lamb’s Rock, which is about 9 km from Coonoor. Overlooking the Coimbatore plains, it provides a spectacular view of the tea and coffee plantations.
Another option would be to trek from Lady Canning’s Seat to Dolphin’s nose, which is located 12 km from Coonoor.
A Trek to Droog is also an ideal option, located at a distance of 13 km from Coonoor, it takes one into the past, with the ruins of a fort, which was once used by Tipu Sultan in the 16th century. |

Tea Factory Visit :-
Coonoor is known for the verdant tea plantations. A visit to a tea factory is a worth while to gain and experience first hand the harvesting of the tea bushes on the hill slopes, the processing of the leaves, and taste the famous nilgiri tea. You could also visit the tea museum if you wish to indulge further and learn more about tea and its history. The annual tea and tourism festival attracts crowds in large numbers. |
